‘A logo? Where are all the games? Boooh! Phoney! Charlatan! You dare call yourself a game developer?‘ Well, I figured it’s good to have something nice to look at while we wait, don’t you think?

The logo is always a dreaded part of any new brand. So I decided to spare no expense… and spend about an hour in Boxy SVG making this:

There it is… the first Caged Wave logo… I’m sure many revisions will follow

So yeah, I wanted to go all fancy with a cool isometric metal box that had an angry wave inside, dying to be let free and… get all wavy and shit. But sometimes the simple, clean solutions are the best. Ask my housekeeper.

Nah, kidding. I can’t afford a housekeeper on my salary. Enjoy the logo though. That’s all the art you’ll probably see for a while.

Sure, let’s make games. Why not, right? I hope this blog will be a nice chronicle of all the ups and downs of these first experiments creating some interactive experiences.

I’ll start off simple, try to not bite off more than I can chew, but will hopefully make great progress in the coming weeks / months / years.

And that’s the reason behind this blog. This is supposed to be the motivational tool I need to get an overview of my progress. A tool to help me stay sane on the long journey ahead.

The name for now: Caged Wave. Popped into my head a few years ago and sounded like a cool name for a gaming brand. Can waves really be caged? Should I even try? Isn’t that like trying to catch lightning in a bottle?
